Password Reset

Please select if you're trying to reset a student or staff password.

To reset your password please enter your student ID or personal email address then click reset.

To reset your password please enter your User Principal Name (UPN).

What is my UPN? the UPN will be your Network ID (The username you use to login to your computer) followed by "@boxhill.edu.au". Note this may not be the same as your email address.

It is important to know your UPN as this will also be the login ID requiered to login to Office 365 or the Box Hill Microsoft portal.

Student Instructions

To reset your password, enter in either:
  • Your student ID as seen on your Student ID Card
    BHI and CAE Logo
  • Your personal email address registered with Box Hill Institute and CAE
If you have entered a vaild email address that is registered with us or a valid Student ID you should receive reset details to your personal email inbox in the next few minutes.
All passwords must adhere to the following criteria:
  • Be at least 10 characters
  • Have not been used as any of the previous 10 passwords
  • Must not contain your account name or full name
  • Must be changed every 90 days
  • Must contain to 3 of the following 4 conditions:
    • Upper case characters (A-Z)
    • Lower case characters (a-z)
    • Numerals (0-9)
    • Non-alphabetic characters (i.e. ! $ # %)

Staff Instructions

To reset your password, enter your staff UPN.
If you have entered a vaild private email address that is registered with us you should receive reset details to your personal email inbox in the next few minutes.
All passwords must adhere to the following criteria:
  • Be at least 10 characters
  • Have not been used as any of the previous 10 passwords
  • Must not contain your account name or full name
  • Must be changed every 90 days

BHI and CAE Logo Troubleshooting

I have not received the email after 10 minutes
  • If you have checked your junk email or promotions folders
  • Try reseting a second time
  • if you still have not received you email after 10 minutes you may not have a registered email address with Box Hill Institute
I do not have an email address registered with Box Hill Institute, or my details are incorrect.
  • Your details must be updated with the Student Administration office. Please visit them in person or contact your teacher to understand how to update this with Student Administration.
